Our Approach

Your first appointment with Dr. Bowden will be a 90-minute comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation. During this initial appointment, Dr. Bowden will meet with you and your child to understand your goals for treatment and to thoroughly review your child's biological, psychological, social, and medical history.

The Psychiatric evaluation will end by sharing any relevant psychiatric diagnoses and most importantly, providing a comprehensive treatment plan that is uniquely tailored to the needs of your child. As a part of the treatment plan, Dr. Bowden may prescribe medications--but this decision will always be based on your child's needs, your family's goals, and the latest psychiatric science. She will ensure that there is plenty of time to answer any and all questions that you have about your child's wellbeing, medications, and the treatment plan.

The frequency that you meet with Dr. Bowden after the initial appointment will depend on your child's individual needs, though families often meet with Dr. Bowden 1-2x monthly.

Bluebird CFP maintains a highly selective list of the best child and adolescent referrals in Michigan that we would be happy to share with your family, as needed and as desired.
