Insurance Reimbursement

Bluebird Child & Family Psychology is an out-of-network provider, meaning that we do not participate with insurance.

Most PPO plans allow you to choose an out-of-network provider and will reimburse a percentage of services. We would be happy to provide you with a “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. To find out more about your out-of-network coverage, we encourage you to:

1) Call your insurance provider at the number listed on the back of your insurance card

2) Ask your provider what percentage is covered for out-of-network providers

3) If they ask, you can share that the CPT/procedure codes we commonly use are 90837  (individual psychotherapy) and 90847 (couples/family psychotherapy)

4) We also encourage you to ask your insurance provider if you have a deductible for an out-of-network provider and how much it is

We accept cash, check, and credit card payments and require all patients to keep a credit card on file. Many patients elect to pay for care using HSA or FSA accounts.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical treatment will cost.

Under the law, health care providers are required to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical treatment.

• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

• Your health care provider will give you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
